Jim "Color Me Unimpressed" Baron On The Iowa Caucuses

Monique Chartier

The views expressed by Mr. James Baron in tomorrow's Pawtucket Times - about both caucuses and pig farmers - are not necessarily shared by yours truly.

• Finally, the Iowa caucuses are tomorrow. How did it come to be that a bunch of pig farmers who apparently spend every fourth year sitting around in coffee shops with their hats and coats on waiting for longshot presidential candidates to shake their hands get to cull the field for the leader of the free world?

Rather than say, some effete Ivy League professors who want to commiserate with terrorists and hear their grievances?
Really,I think too much is made of both Iowa and NH to the exclusion of some really important key states with lots of electoral votes.
Those talking head pundits on TV are also extremely pumped up all out of proportion to their actual importance.Right or left-no matter there.

I had an uncle who was a pig farmer with the garbage contract for the Newport News Naval Base. He had an enormous pile of cups, bowls, plates and flatware that the pigs wouldn't eat.

Perhaps pig farmers know something of government waste.
