The Message We Heard

Justin Katz

I suspect that those of you who watched the state of the union speech heard it recited similarly to this:

(via the Corner)

you're kidding, right? This SOTU where he said we have to cut corporate taxes, freeze government spending, slash government jobs programs, and further attack unions, especially teacher unions....

and the right wing is still pissed off?

ya, that seems about right.

Stop whining Crowley-no one outside your decrepit left wing circles gives a daamn when you cry about the poor union members.
The Federal retirees haven't had a COLA in 2 years now-no whining.
Last week I was notified they were taking more witholding tax out of my annuity payment each month, not to mention the increase in health care premiums.
Now the Congress and Obama agreed on a tax freeze, and as I said,no COLA's.
So how come the witholding increase?
I checked and other people had the same situation.
It makes no sense.
Last year we filed a short form and got money back, sooo??
I will try to find out why-hahahaha-great chance of getting an answer from OPM.Lucky if they even answer the phone.
RI public employees have it great and they still complain.
One day soon,RI retirees may not get paid.I'm sure you'll have an explanation for them.

In his SOTU, Obama shone a spotlight on the Bruce Randolph School in Denver.

“Take a school like Bruce Randolph in Denver,” he said. “Three years ago, it was rated one of the worst schools in Colorado. Last May, 97 percent of seniors received their diploma.”

Total success story, right? But here’s why. Five years after it opened, that school was given permission by the state to run completely autonomously – free from district and more importantly, UNION rules.

And then, in the most brilliant move ever, the principal made every teacher reapply for his/her job. A grand total of SIX made the cut. Try THAT in a union setting. The school also transitioned from being only a middle school to a school for students ranging from 6th through 12th grade.

Hey Pat-get those Obama stickers out cause you and your ilk have nowhere else to go!

To give credit where it's due,I called Rep.Langevin's office about his and ahd to leve a voicemail-I was called within 2 hours by an extremely pleasant lady in Constituent Services who explained it was due to the expiration of the "making work tax credit".OK,as long as I know why.I guess everyone, not just retirees are affected.
Nice to know that at least his office reponds promptly and courteously.

We all know how much you prize courtesy.

I just can't wait for one of your inane comments. You've made enough crappy remarks about me to fill a small book, but I always consider the source, and in your case what you say doesn't mean jack sh*t to me.
Go dredge up some oysters.Or blow your nose-same difference.

Posted by: joe bernstein at January 31, 2011 9:38 PM

Go tell it to your Buddy.

I love watching the Leftists reduced to sputtering because they can't hold up their end of the debate here.

Sounds like Phil needs his meds adjusted.

Posted by: BobN at February 1, 2011 8:22 AM

Joe I am leaving to go harvest oysters this instance. I don't dredge them though. All my oysters are hand selected from bags in cages.

Look here Newton. Here's some of the non Leftest high level discussion.

Phil-you're right-for once-Phil does need his meds adjusted.
No one outside of NEA gives a damn about them and their greedy public be damned desires except the whoring politicians who kiss their asses.
You love to connect me and Buddy Cianci-I call his show, period.I don't know him and didn't support him for Mayor, although in retrospect he did some really good things for the city where I live and you don't.
Cicilline did nothing positive.
Taveras' interview on 10 Newsconference this Sunday was not encouraging.
I actually used to like calling the liberal Howie Barte because truth be told,I like disputing issues with people like him. They piss on their shoes quite often due to sloppy background research.
I just got done having a lehgthy back and forth with "klaus"on Kmareka re:gun control.
I came to realize he had no grasp of the facts with regard to RI law and the relationship between strict gun laws and incidences of gun violence. He now seems to have retired from the field for a little siesta.

Joe

You've got it wrong again. It was your friend BobN that was responsible for the comment about the need for me to adjust my meds.

Posted by: Phil at February 1, 2011 5:10 PM

Yes,he did.But you quoted him with no quotation marks.I actually just like to bust balls.I have always been able to take it,but most liberals start having their menses when being dumped on.

Posted by: joe bernstein at February 1, 2011 5:33 PM

Joe.

You're right. Where I come from if your balls aren't being busted then you've got something to be worried about.
