Mary was close to giving birth,but she and Joseph had to go on a trip to comply with a Government requirement.

They had to go all the way to Bethlehem and when they got there,it was already crowded with people who also had to be there because of Government edict.

Mary was in labor,but all of the inns had no room for her and her soon to be born baby.

Finally,an innkeeper directed them to a little stable behind the inn, and there they took refuge.

They brought in their donkey and for some reason the stalwart beast went down on his knees as Mary gave birth.

Then there was a chorus such as was never heard on earth before from the angels singing Gloria in excelsis Deo...
