Buddy Roemer Qualifies for the RI Primary; RI Primary Field Now Complete

Carroll Andrew Morse

According to the RI Secretary of State's office, Buddy Roemer has qualified for the April 24 Rhode Island Presidential primary.

This should complete the primary field (unless signatures are being counted strictly in the order they came in, and all of the signatures for Mark Callahan were submitted after the other candidates' were, which is less likely than the probability that Callahan filed but got no signatures).

The five candidates who will appear on the Republican ballot will be Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Santorum, and Buddy Roemer. (I believe that their ordering on the ballot will be determined by a lottery to be held before the election).

Barack Obama is the only name that will appear on the Democratic ballot.

Comments

Talan hats off to Dave Talan for spearheading the effort to overcome the obstacles set by RI Ballot Laws and Sec State Ralph Mollis. RIGOP went 5 for 5 getting republicans on the ballot. Dave is a logistical genius at this stuff.

I concur. Dave Talan is a treasure to the RIGOP.

Good news!
Now if only Buddy Roemer were given a fair chance to get his message in front of the american people by allowing him to debate we would be on the right track. He is the only candidate who has the experience of Gov., Congressman and Private sector. His absence of politics for yrs. which makes him not known by the masses should not be reason to not let the guy debate. He is overly qualified to be Pres. and the only candidate to qualify for Fed. Matching Funds from the Federal Election Commission. It just does not add up?

"He is overly qualified to be Pres."

I lol'd. Laying it on a little thick, aren't we?

YAH RHODE ISLAND!!! Small state with a MIGHTY message! Kudos 2 you. Do your homework on Buddy Roemer. The rest of the Candidates including the Pres. are already bought and paid for. Just look at where their big checks are coming from. Wallstreet, Big Corps, Billionaires, etc. What will they get in return for their big checks??? I mean come on you just don't write checks like that without getting something in return. I want a President that is free to lead & has NO strings attached. That is one of the MANY reasons that I support Buddy Roemer. Elections should be won on who can get the most votes NOT who can raise the most money. Obviously the GOP, Media etc. are afraid of this message. They won't let him debate & they will not give him hardly any media attention. Makes me like him even more. We need a True Patriot to lead our country in a better direction and I happen to think that Buddy Roemer is that guy. He also has a history of fighting corruption in his home state of LA. Republican or Democrat it doesn't really matter how you identify yourself today. THEY BOTH TAKE THE BIG CHECKS. Until we solve that problem then it really doesn't matter who has your vote cause NOTHING will ever change.

Remarkably unremarkable.

Congradulations to the citizens of Rhode Island..can see why your people were the 1st Republic in the 13 original colonies. Stay Free. And really look at Gov. Buddy Roemer's site. No other candidate is better equipped through experience and desire to help us confront the troubled waters ahead for our nation. When you think of Gov. Roemer....think Pres. Teddy Roosevelt...he's that kind of personality.

Fake accounts are awesome.

Reminds me of when there was something slightly negative mentioned about John Loughlin here once. His supporters came out of the woodwork and hit this site hard for about an hour. How did that work out?

This is a delight to see! Roemer on the April 24th ballot and the several enthusiastic comments.

I have been a Roemer fan since last August when I first heard him speak to the National Press Club and later saw a recording (on his website) of Buddy describing HIS economic/jobs plan STANDING IN FRONT OF THE CHINESE EMBASSY. He is the only Republican candidate who understands that our economy can not be fixed unless we change our disastrous trade policies over the last 20 years. He's a Harvard MBA educated BANKER who has visited Occupy Wall Street and agrees that banks and Wall Street practices must be reformed.

And he's fun to listen to--not boring as most Republican candidates are.

He's the only POPULIST the Republican Party has who can reach out to Democrats and Independents. The Republican Party is disintegrating, dying as conservatives and far right take over. This will be their swan song.

Maybe by April 24 will be so CLEAR they actually will let Buddy Roemer into one of the debats. Here in Florida where I live, the Party just removed him from the primary ballot altogether!! Too scared to compete with his commonsense populism.
