(Re)State of the Union

Marc Comtois

I mean, really....it doesn't even seem like he's trying anymore.

Rehashing the same tired lines, delivered at an 8th grade reading level. It just reinforces the perception that President Obama likes the idea of being President much more than actually doing the job. Good thing the GOP has such a strong field of candidates....

I missed the part where he detailed the "sacrifices" he is asking for this year to fulfill his "pledge to cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term"

I must have dozed off cause all I heard was more fantasy tales of endless giveaways, union handouts and Mo' Money economics we would expect from a wingnut like The Skunk-and the same old $1.5 trillion deficit..

Anyone who bothered to listen to this fatuous douchebag wasted time in their lives that can never be reclaimed.

First time I hear someone stuttering with a one year gap!

Hey, he's the only one articulating a vision that makes sense, that will create millions of new jobs, reform our educational system, save our roads and bridges (which benefit even republicans) and revolutionize healthcare. The problem is the republicans will never allow him to do the hard work he has vision for because of politics. Fortunately he easily wins a second term, we return our congressional delegation with hopefully a new democrat majority in the House and a stronger majority in the Senate, and we begin to move our country forward by the VISION articulated by perhaps the finest president in modern times. Frankly, given the specifics, inspiration and common sense for America solutions only those who harbor bigotry in their hearts can be against this gallant young African-American president. - GETT OVER ITTTT!!!!!!

I honestly can't tell if Charles is being serious or not. Perhaps he has forgotten that the Democrats controlled Congress and the Presidency for 2 years and none of the above was accomplished.

Also interesting that Charles refers to Obama as an "African-American". That's funny because I just see him as an "American". When will these Democrats finally stop seeing people by the "color of their skin but by the content of their character"? It seems that most people around here are definitely judging the President by the content of his character.

We'll never get past race issues in this country as long as we have people like Charles around.

Clearly, Patrick, you have a problem with race. It must drive your white-supremacist inner child crazy to watch a black man with more guts, more brains and more patriotism than you'll ever have. Again, your attacks must be racially motivated. Are you against jobs, against educating our young people, against improving infrastructure that benefits us all and against our right to quality healthcare for ALL Americans (even those with brown skin who lack documentation)? Of course not. So therefor it must be race Patrick - what else is there? I pray for you.

I'm pretty sure I know who this Charles guy is. In fact, I'm pretty sure most of us do.

Rhode Island political troll extraordinaire. I'm surprised though, because usually he does it out of personal vengeance or to seek political favors with local candidates.

Chrlaes, I am not against any of those I just don't believe our present system of government can accomplish it. Manufacturers are always warned "don't throw labor at it". Well, don't throw money at it.

How is it that people "who lack documentation" are Americans? We do have a Naturalization procedure.

I didn't watch. And I do have a "color" tv.

Warrington-get ready for 10 months of being called a racist if you don't want to kiss Obama's ass.
I think the guy sucks and the people he's appointed suck even worse.
We could've had a Black president in 1996 if Colin Powell had run.
I think he'd have been pretty good.
