Doherty to Announce Big News Tomorrow

Carroll Andrew Morse

Ron St. Pierre has tweeted, within the hour, that Col. Brendan Doherty will appear on WPRO's (630 AM) Buddy Cianci show tomorrow at 4 pm to make a "'big news' announcement". (h/t Jon Pincince, who wonders if it might be just about the biggest news possible, a change from the First to the Second district Congressional race).

UPDATE:

OK, I may have gotten carried away here. Ted Nesi of WPRI-TV (CBS 12) just posted an item to his blog, with the details of a Bobby Farrelly fundraiser to be held in Rhode Island for Brendan Doherty. Could this be the big news?

UPDATE II:

On the other hand, at least the Phoenix and the Projo have already carried stories about a Farrelly Brother fundraiser for Colonel Doherty, though without a specific date being settled. Would locking down a fundraiser date qualify as "big news"?

That would be great because as of now,Langevin has a free ride.
Also,it would be good if Loughlin and Doherty didn't have to face off with each other-they are both excellent people.

Ditto everything Joe said. And Langevin's prior opponent, Mark Zaccaria, has graciously encouraged Colonel Doherty to do so - so there would be no complication of a primary from that quarter.

He should switch to the Senate race against Weldon Shitehouse with the ultimate goal of getting Gump out of the governor's seat. Even if BD loses, his profile is raised and Weldon would be exposed as the racist, D-hack he has always been. Then two more years of raising money for the seat he should hold, governor.

Big news to announce a fundraiser!??! Wow, what about a policy announcement? Now that would be news, Doherty actually having a position on an issue - this guy is just all about money and shame on WPRO for aiding and abetting!
