Prez to Illegals: You Can Stay - Just Don't Murder Anyone

Monique Chartier

This is unacceptable.

The Obama administration's plan to review the cases of 300,000 illegal immigrants currently in deportation proceedings to identify "low-priority" offenders has sparked a debate in Washington and beyond.

Officials said that by launching the case-by-case review, they are refocusing deportation efforts on convicted felons and other "public safety threats." Those who have not committed crimes could be allowed to remain in the U.S.

How long before word gets around the world - literally - that if you can just make it over the United States' border, however you have to do it, you're golden? Too late; it already happened.

With this action, President Obama is spitting simultaneously on legal immigrants and on the sovereignty of the United States. Will Congress stand next to him and do likewise by refusing to intercede on behalf of the people who came here lawfully (and at considerable cost), on behalf of US sovereignty and on behalf of ITS OWN CONSTITUTIONAL ROLE AND POWERS?

On the issue of deportation, the executive branch has the privilege of determining how to implement the law, but it does not have the power to manipulate the way a law is carried out to the extent that it changes the meaning of the law. ...

The President’s newest round of executive branch legislating, though, through the Department of Homeland Security, is particularly abhorrent. It represents the first major time that President Obama has successfully used the executive branch not only to bypass the legislature, but to act directly contrary to it. In the face of a hostile House of Representatives, it is likely that these ‘screw you’ moments will become increasingly frequent.

While "deferred action"is nothing new(it has always been used in appropriate situations on a case by case basis),what concerns me is the mass abuse of discretion that, while technically legal, may in the aggregate be a serious violation of the constitutional restrictions against legislative action by the Executive Branch.
It's like this:giving an infant a little bottle of milk is sensible, but force feeding that infant a half gallon of milk is assault with intent to murder.
OK,progressives - fire away.
PS:If this action comes with employmant authorization for these individuals,it will mean de facto loss of that many job opportunities for citizens, legal residents, and refugees.

Progressives want socialized safety nets at the same time that they allow mass illegal immigration. Any such system will run huge deficits and go bankrupt within a few decades. Basic math.

As the distance between the governors and the governed ncreases, it has become a matter of fact that the President can get away with anything he desires.

For the most part, Americans have little faith that they can effect the manner in which they are governed. Voter registration goes down, and down. This is a sign of apathy. Many have strong opinions, and express them without let or hinderance, but they don't vote.

The bottom line..........Hussein needs every voter he can muster. Illegal, dead, paid for.....doesn't matter. USA is through with Hussein and he knows it. He sharpened his "skills" in Illinois where dead people vote every election. Daley put JKF over the top against Nixon in Illinois with dead voters. Hussein is corrupt. Desperate people do desperate things. GW Bush & McCain also are in favor of loose borders. Unemployment up?...Lets let in and keep more illegals. How is that Hope and Change working for you?

The President "shall take care that the laws be FAITHFULLY executed." U.S. Const., art. II, sect. 3.

Not grudgingly, not technically . . . faithfully.

Our Man(?) in the Whitehouse, I refuse to call him my President, has let the cat out of the bag early regarding his " jobs program ". Straight from Martha's Vineyard Headquarters, these 300,000 Illegal Aliens currently in the deportation process are going to have their cases scrutinized on an individual basis and while that scrutinzation is occuring, possibly years, they'll be given a WORK PERMIT, 300,000 to be exact. That's right folks!! Along with the 7 million ILLEGAL ALIENS that are currently employed in our country, out of the 12.5 million residing here according to our government, he's going to add another 300,000. He's going to call it JACHP, " The Jobs Americans Can't Have Program ". Is it any wonder I consider him to be our " PANDERER IN CHIEF ". We must wake up folks. We can't let him and those behind him take our country away. Please GET INVOLVED !!!!!!

I'm surprised the EO doesn't require states to register these people to vote, with pre-completed registration cards showing Democrat affiliation.

Something else-who's going to "adjudicate"these cases?ICE Agents, who, therefore, while detailed to this busy work, can't pursue those "dangerous criminal aliens"the srutting fool is sooo concerned about.
This happened in the 1986 amnesty when a large number of Special Agents were detailed to "legalization".It was actually voluntary, sweetened with extra overtime.I'd have sooner drank warm snot.
As it turned out most of the agents who went for it were useless turds anyway and it was a blessing to be rid of them for two years or so.
What a disgrace-I hope Congress acts to stop this megalomaniac. He actually mused about overriding Congress on this publicly some months ago.

For the "pick-and chose" ..Cafeteria Catholics

-The Most Rev. Thomas J. Tobin, Bishop of Providence has urged Stephen Farquharson , Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE), Boston Regional Office, to declare a moratorium on immigration raids in Rhode Island. Tobin also encouraged ICE to allow agents to excuse themselves from participating in raids if such actions are not in conformity with their faith and conscience

Regardless of what we learn in school, and movies. about Ellis Island; this is the way American immigration has worked in the last century.

I forget when we ended our ban on Asian immigration, I think it was about 1920. By that time there were millions of "illegal" Chinese here. The immigration people sang the same old song, "they all look the same", "they all have the same name", "we can't tell them apart" etc. So, then came the "Chinese Confession" cases. Basically, if you admitted you were illegal, you were given a Green Card. Theory was we would then look for those without a Green Card. This carried over to the illegal Japanese as well.

In the 60's we pretty much gave blanket amnesty to Cubans. We did a little better with the Cuban "boat people" in the 70's, but not so much. Just look at the criminal underworld in Miami.

I have never had a clear explanation of how Mr. Obama's Aunt Zeituni got here. The same might be said of half the cab drivers in New York, or any other major city.

When there was poor federal regulation, port cities such as New York passed regulations on how many people could arrive per ship. This was intended to slow the tide of immigrants. This is now considered interfering with federal prerogatives, unless you are establishing a "sanctuary city"

Now Mr. Obama is being pressured by agricultural interests, and various unions such as hotel workers. They supply the money needed. Anti immigrant groups are largely just sign wavers, they aren't "funding the legislative process". And then there are a lot of little people. The head of maintenance at the local courthouse has a landscaping sideline, he has six Guatemalans working for him.

As "Gangs of New York" will show you, objection to immigration is not new. Even when my mother was a kid, "nice girls" didn't walk in Italian neighborhoods of Providence (I am not suggesting rapine, more like harassment).

Campaign stunt. Nothing more, nothing less.

"The Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency expects to deport about 400,000 people this fiscal year, nearly 10 percent above the Bush administration's 2008 total and 25 percent more than were deported in 2007. The pace of company audits has roughly quadrupled since President George W. Bush's final year in office....

Sammy-take a brief respite from Obama propaganda to notice that the illegal alien Ecuadorian from Milford,MA who killed a pedestrian by running him over twice is still here after being arrested a number of times previously-you can thank Devil Patrick's attack on police/ICE cooperation for that.
Encouraged by Obama's attitude that he doesn't need Congress to authorize the Dream Act or amnesty-he can do it all by administrative fiat.
This is the kind of abuse of authority that should lead to impeachment, but it won't.
All the birth certificate nonsense obscured the fact that we have a President who believes he can legislate from the Oval Office.
