Ya Know, the Obama Admin's Word for W*r is Just as Silly as Sarah Palin's

Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes to reporters on Air Force One.

“I think what we are doing is enforcing a resolution that has a very clear set of goals, which is protecting the Libyan people, averting a humanitarian crisis, and setting up a no-fly zone,” Rhodes said. “Obviously that involves kinetic military action, particularly on the front end.

Palin during On the Record with Greta van Susteren.

I haven't heard the president say that we are at war. And that's why I, too, am not knowing, do we use the term "intervention," do we use "war," do we use "squirmish," what is it?

Even Jon Stewart was skeptical of the admin's term.

The difference as to intent should also not be ignored. Rhodes was attempting to avoid a word that would underscore the fact that the Obama admin had initiated a bellicose action against another country.

Palin just goofed up.

Semi-related item: Let the record show that it was Jay Severin, just before his suspension this week for unrelated remarks, who first plugged the admin's term into Edwin Starr's song.

Kineticmilitaryaction!

Huh!

(Yeah!)

What is it good for??

Absolutely nothing!

Uh Huh!

Kineticmilitaryaction!

Huh!

(Yeah!)

I'm a little confused on this Libya thing. When Obama won his Nobel Peace Prize, since he'd done nearly nothing in office to that point, or actually he hadn't even been inaugurated when the nominations were filed. So people were justifying it by saying that it wasn't for what he'd done, it was for what he was *going to do* in the whole world peace process.

So yeah, how does a "kinetic military action" help out that whole "future peace" resume?

That certainly has some people puzzled, Patrick.

It appears that Barack Obama received his Nobel Peace prize on a sort of pre-emptive, wishful thinking basis. Hopefully, this has become a cautionary tale for the Committee and its considerations going forward.

The Nobel Peace Prize, has,in recent years become an empty exercise in political correctness. It has all the validity of a Crackerjack prize nowadays.
The only truly deserving recipients in recent memory have been Nelson Mandela and the woman in Myanmar(whose name escapes me)because they endured great personal risk and hardship for their efforts and Mandela actually resolved a potentially disastrous situation.
Just thin-that clown Al Gore stole the prize from a Polish Catholic lady who saved about 2,500 Jewish children from the Nazis at great danger to herself. At least the Israelis honored her while she was alive.
Or "I,Rigoberta Menchu",that fraudulent little scam artist from Guatemala.
She admitted faking the details of her "autobiography" and was still allowed to keep the prize and the money.
Or our current resident of the Oval Office. He got it for absolutely nothing. It was like giving him a scholarship.
The whole Peace Prize thing has become a rancid joke.
