Technical Issues

Our Web host upgraded our hardware and software, and most everything seems to have gone smoothly. For some reason, however, I'm not able to access Anchor Rising the page itself using my Cox cable modem. With my mobile Internet modem, however, I've got no problems.
Are other Cox users able to access the site? Anybody else having strange issues?

Posted by: drdave51 at November 13, 2009 8:39 AMI had a problem a few days ago. When I clicked on a bookmark, I got a picture of a rather attractive, bikini clad, young lady. By Googling Anchor Rising, I got a link that worked.
Posted by: Warrington Faust at November 13, 2009 8:55 AMOpen a command prompt, type ping www.anchorrising.com. If it is able to resolve the URL to an IP address, it isn't a DNS issue. If it can't, try doing ipconfig /flushdns. This will clear all of your cached entries on your computer (I assume you are using Windows).
If the ping works out ok, type tracert www.anchorrising.com then enter. It will show every hop/router in between you and Anchor Rising. If you get * * * before you get to Anchor Rising, that is where your problem is.

Posted by: Dave at November 13, 2009 9:46 AMI had a problem earlier, but it's ok now.
Posted by: joe bernstein at November 13, 2009 10:58 AMI had some trouble from OSHEAN, the state's higher-ed network. It seems to have resolved itself. Your server's IP probably changed, and the old one took time to drop out of various caches on the different networks.
