The First Great Punchline of the Administration

Justin Katz

Jason Jones delivers it on Jon Stewart, just after Stewart has illustrated the striking similarities between Bush's rhetoric and Obama's:

It's like, why is cheese delicious on Italian food, but when you melt it on Chinese food, it's disgusting. I don't know. I guess when Obama says this stuff, I don't think he really means it, and that gives me hope.

That pretty well captures Obama's allure: People across the political spectrum believe him when he speaks their language and hear only necessary white lies when the words come out the other side of his mouth.

Comments

Imagine if Bush ever said that he'd visited 57 states with 2 more to go? It'd be on every talk show that night. First, the humor in the "57", and then the humor in the "two more", because if it was just a misspeak and he meant 47, then there are only two more states to visit? Only 49?

Obama says it and it's "just something that happens on a long, tiring campaign."

Forgetting to pay $34,000 in taxes is also just a speed bump for big deal fiananciers who run the CFR,and hold high positions in the Federal Reserve and the IMF.
It's no big deal because as Rahm "Cat in the Hat"Emanuel told a quivering David Gregory "he's the best man for the job".just like Dean esserman is "America's best police chief".and Joe Bernmtein is going to teach advanced calculus at MIT(as soon as I learn long division)

Joe, don't forget that Rahm also told DG that Geithner also admitted his mistake and apologized and is ready to move on.

Interesting that when Bush admits his mistakes, the opposition wants him tried. When one of their own makes a mistake in avoiding taxes, they make him the head of the IRS.

I notice that I misspelled my name.

Yes, the MIT hiring committee was wondering about that also.

Joe, by the way, you sounded great on the Matt Allen Show tonight.
