Mistaking Thoughtfulness for Misogyny?

Monique Chartier

Sir Elton, isn't it possible that some people oppose Senator Clinton's candidacy on the basis of issues and character and not because they hate women?

And how can we resist flipping it around? In the unlikely event Condoleezza Rice ever runs for office, will you support her or will you be a misogynist?

British pop star Elton John, playing a fund-raiser for Hillary Clinton in New York on Wednesday, said he was amazed at the misogyny of some in America and he hoped that wouldn't stop her being president.

At the fund-raiser which Clinton's campaign manager said raised $2.5 million, John said there was no one more qualified to lead the United States into the next era.

"Having said that, I never cease to be amazed at the misogynistic attitude of some people in this country.

Was Elton living up to one of the worst gay stereotypes there is, the cantankerous old queen?
Or did the Clinton camp's sense of entitlement just rub off on him?

Every day Elton looks more and more like my grandmother. And every day he makes less and less sense. Just like my grandmother.

Hi!
I don't detect much if any real opposition to Hillary because of gender. A number of people don't agree with their politics, or have other reasons: have a "Clinton fatigue", concern about a Bush/Clinton Dynasty perod, or may think the Clintons are a little power hungry.
I will confess that I vote for Republicans as President and have done so every four years since 1972,.
Someday we will have a number women on the GOP ticket perhaps this year as VP,. Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Senior United States Senator from Texas is a possibility this year.
Would Sir Elton John encourage and laud a woman of the Republican persuasion run for the Presidency? He is a British subject and has no vote here.
Regards,
Scott

Elton, Elton, Elton...you're an amazing talent and have done tremendous charity work...but shut up and go back to the UK. Your opinion matters not here. The fact is, Hilary Clinton has no record to run on. Her experience, largely in the private sector, does not make her the most qualified to lead the US. That said, she's a pillar compared to Obama. We're left to chose between an out of touch Senior Citizen, a do-nothing elitist, and a bigger do nothing wind bag.

Hillary's socialist policies are atrocious. That is reason enough to dislike her. But, there's more! It's funny how she claims experience in her husband's administration, you know, working on healthcare, going to Bosnia, etc.. --but distances herself from HIS scandals. Which is it? Was she a key player in the Clinton administration, or not? You bet she was! So, when you add in her history of corruption, Travel Gate, etc.. she is the worst candidate ever.
