Hillary Clinton Brought up China, Not Me

Marc Comtois

Hillary Clinton recently gave a speech that included this line that made me go hmmmmm.

You know, people ask me all the time, "Why can't we get tough on China?" Well, the answer is, because China is one of our bankers. We're their debtor. How can we truly enforce trade laws against a country that manipulates it currency and puts us at an unfair advantage when our economic stability depends on China's massive loans to us every single day?
Yes, the Clinton's have sure shown they know how to get tough on China, haven't they?

I just wish the Clinton and Bush administrations had used our place of world leadership to hold China's feet to the fire on human rights abuses before Bejing was awarded the '08 Olympics.

Ah, China. Clinton's legacy to the world. Give the Chinese missile tech and a few years later Iran is holding the planet hostage with nuke-tipped missiles. But of course that's just a coincidence.

Hillary seriously needs a lesson in economics. Bribery is not the same thing as lending money.

And don't forget North Korea, Greg. In their case, holding the planet hostage literally with the technology Clinton gave China (which in turn gave it to North Korea).

Susan, I didn't include them because I hardly fear a country that can't keep the lights on.
