Your Kerry King/Reginald Centracchio Voter Information Clearinghouse

Carroll Andrew Morse

Scott Mayerowitz has dueling articles about Republican Lieutenant Governor candidates Kerry King and Reginald Centracchio in this week’s Projo.

The article on Kerry King ran on Monday. For those seeking further information on Mr. King

A little birdy told me that Mr. King might not be wholly as supportive of Republican candidates as he likes to let on.

Since King recently criticized Gen. Centracchio for (indirectly) contributing a whopping $50 to a certain Dem. candidate, I would say that Mr. King's personal campaign contributions are fair game as well...

Hi!
Donations to candidates providing they are legal reflect on the seriousness of one's support of a candidate.I support King.
When did Centracchio make the Fogarty donation? What REALLY concerns me is that Centracchio declined to run for Lieutenant Governor, supposedly went so far as filling out his Scituate Town Council declaration papers then at the last minute decides to run for Lt.Governor.This certainly reflects political indecision.
The bottom line that is incredulous the Governor who welcomed Kerry King to be his running mate then went to neutral mode when Centracchio reconsidered and entered at the last moment the Lt.Governors race. The Governor won't stand publicly in this race but is backing Chafee over Laffey in the US Senate race!

Scott

Let me see. General C and Charlie F were in charge of RI's emergency preparedness for how many years? During which they got an "F" on their handling of the Station Fire, and never produced a statewide hurricane plan, until Katrina showed the error of their ways. And this was supposed to be his strong suit.

Also, his relieving Rick Baucus of command at Guantanamo is an episode that highlighted the underlying differences between "National Guard Generals" who owe their stars to political connections, and the way you earn them in the regular Army. If General C is elected Lt. Gov, look for fireworks between him and his replacement, who was brought in over Reggie's fair haired boys.

Finally, ask yourself one question: is the key problem facing this state economic growth, or emergency preparedness? If you think it's the former, vote King. And even if you think its the latter, look at the track record, and the potential for a completely FUBARed situation if Reggie inserts himself (as Lt Gov) in the chain of command.

Food for thought.
