The Republican Gubernatorial Primary is Over

The RI Secretary of State’s website is reporting that Dennis Michaud has fallen 67 signatures short of qualifying for the Republican primary ballot.

Don Roach (who spotted this first) has called the SoS’s office and confirmed that this is a final result, not just a running count. More info is available at Don’s new Converse it! Blog.

What is funnier is that parents of Brown students pay tens of thousands of dollars a year to have this guy teach their kids!

Say what you want about Guy Dufault, but he never would've allowed this to happen to a candidate of his. There goes the Carcieri camp's theory of Michaud being a puppet of Dufault and the casino crowd.

I'd sooner believe that someone at the Sec. of State's office actually NOTICED that Michaud had a lot of dead people's signatures on his petitions than I would believe that Dufault wasn't involved.

Excellent work!

I think Michaud's still a puppet; just a puppet without enough real signatures. Unfortunately, relying on signatures from the Land of Make-Believe doesn't work for the BOE (usually).

PS I check out the rest of the BOE website, and I thought there were a few other interesting things on there, too.

Joe, I'm not really sure what you're talking about, but then again, you're not really sure what you're talking about either, are you?

Stick to your usual insightful comments like "Laffey Good, Chafee Bad". At least then people can comprehend what you're talking about.
