Iraqi Elections Successful (Again)

Carroll Andrew Morse

Short version of the Iraqi elections...

High turnout, including in the Sunni areas.

Lots of people celebrating, literally, their right to vote.

Pajamas Media has a roundup including on-the-ground reporting from bloggers who are there.

Is it just me or has the MSM completely downplayed the success of the elections?

I was just watching MSNBC, and their coverage of the elections was titled "iraq troop levels"

they seem to have taken for granted the 70% turnout and peaceful day it was. these people risked DEATH to vote. if the tables were turned, I doubt we'd see many of these journalists and talking heads standing in lines, walking hours to the polls, and enduring pat-downs all for the sake of voting, and all in the face of terrorists bent on preventing democracy from taking root.

let's give credit where credit is due! (and what have laffey or chafee said about the elections?)
